Staff Nurse - Acute Medicine Ward L7

We have exciting opportunities for a Band 5 nurse to join our friendly and supportive acute medical and nursing team on ward L7, committed to providing and maintaining high standards of patient care. The ward specialises in Acute Medicine, diabetes, and endocrine; you will be exposed to a large variety of clinical conditions.

The unit has 24 beds, a ward coordinator and a supervisory Ward Manager.

Job Responsibilities

• Care for patients with a variety of acute medical problems.
• Deliver a high standard of patient care within a multidisciplinary team.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
• Respond flexibly to the demands of a rapidly changing acute clinical environment.

Posts are offered on a full time basis and require flexible working patterns, including bank holidays and weekends.

Qualifications & Experience

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Part 1 Adult / General Level 1 or 2).
• Degree or diploma in nursing studies (or equivalent qualification and experience).
• Previous medical experience.
• Post registration experience.

Knowledge & Competence

• Understanding of the role of a Registered Nurse within a multidisciplinary team and how it may contribute to service development.
• Knowledge of the NMC Code and ability to seek advice and escalating appropriately.
• Understanding of care planning and delivery.
