We have some great incentives that we can offer:
Recruitment and Retention Premium (RRP) of £6,000 per year on top of the Band 5 salary. On average this will be £34,000-£40,000 per annum (inclusive of average unsocial hours payments and the RRP)
The successful candidate will receive up to £120 towards their registration fee, which will be paid upon commencement.
This payment will be subject to tax and National Insurance deductions.
We also offer a fantastic preceptorship Programme that allows you to develop your clinical, communication and leadership skills with excellent support.
Main duties of the jobYou will be responsible for the day-to-day running of a Learning Disability Medium Secure Unit and will assist the Team Leader in maintaining effective team working processes.
- Registered Nurses must be able to exercise a considerable degree of initiative, possess mature judgment and maintain a calm, friendly and efficient manner when dealing with patients, their relatives, colleagues and visitors.
- You will be required to work independently using initiative, and apply a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism to their work.
- You must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, manage competing demands and organise their own work in meeting deadlines in order for the smooth running of the ward area.

Job responsibilities- To work in close collaboration with other professionals in a Medium Secure setting, assessing patients' needs, devising Person-Centered care plans and evaluating outcomes that promote patient empowerment through the process.
- Alongside the wider Multi-disciplinary Team you will be expected to participate in providing high quality, individualised care, which addresses the needs and wants of adolescents and adults with Learning Disabilities and/or psychiatric disorders or challenging behaviours.
- Completion of management training
- Teaching / training experience
- Experience in care planning
- Organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a management structure
- Communication skills - written, verbal and non-verbal
- Provision of effective clinical supervision
- Leadership and motivational skills
- Ability to chair meetings effectively
- Recognises and reflects on barriers to effective communication, modifying communication in response
- Keeps accurate and complete records and communication consistent with legislation, policies and procedures
- Flexible and responsive approach to care
