We are currently looking to recruit a dedicated Female Support Worker to support a young lady with complex physical and communication needs in her own home.

Are you a caring, enthusiastic person who enjoys making a genuine difference to someone's life?

At St Elizabeth Care Agency, we are proud to be rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults living in their own homes across Ipswich, Woodbridge and the surrounding areas.

We are currently looking to recruit a dedicated Female Support Worker to support a young lady with complex physical and communication needs in her own home.

This is a rewarding 1:1 role where you will build a meaningful relationship and support her to enjoy life, develop independence and access the things that are important to her. No two days will be the same, and you will play an important part in helping her achieve the best possible quality of life.

About the role

You will be supporting a young lady who is non-verbal, uses a wheelchair, receives nutrition and medication via a PEG, and requires oxygen therapy.

The role will include:

  • Providing personal care and support with all aspects of daily living.
  • Supporting communication, promoting choice and encouraging independence in ways that are meaningful to her.
  • Supporting community outings, including driving her accessible vehicle.
  • Enjoying music, singing, sensory activities and helping her access the community.
  • Working closely with family members and the wider care team to provide consistent, high-quality support.

Full training and support will be provided in the client's specific care requirements.

Shifts

  • 8:00am - 5:30pm
  • Respite cover, including waking nights
  • Flexibility to provide cover for annual leave and sickness is essential.

Additional hours may be available through our domiciliary care services for those looking to increase their working hours.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Warm, kind and patient.
  • Confident, reliable and committed.
  • Bubbly and positive, with the ability to bring energy and enjoyment to each day.
  • Passionate about providing person-centred care.
  • Happy to join in with music, singing and sensory activities.
  • Dedicated to helping someone live life to the fullest.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Access to your own vehicle.
  • A minimum of one year's experience supporting people with complex needs.
  • This post is open to female applicants only under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 due to the personal care requirements of the role.

What we offer

  • Competitive pay of £14.96-£19.07 per hour.
  • A rewarding role where you can make a real difference every day.
  • Full training, induction and ongoing support to help you provide high-quality care.
  • Free uniform, handbook and toolkit.
  • Regular supervision and supportive team meetings.
  • Opportunities to gain the Care Certificate and nationally recognised qualifications.
  • Refer a Friend Scheme - receive £100 when your recommended candidate joins our team, plus a further £100 once they successfully complete their probation period.
  • A friendly, supportive team that values and invests in its staff.

If you are looking for a role where you can build a meaningful relationship, make a lasting difference and be part of an Outstanding-rated care provider, we would love to hear from you.

Please note that this role is open to females only due to the needs of the people you will be supporting. This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1.
