Amazon is seeking Cluster Operations Manager for its Transportation team.
In this role you will be responsible for setting up the delivery infrastructure in the city, identifying locations for delivery stations, and ensuring rapid growth throughout the city.
Essential Functions- Defining, building and responsible for the execution of transportation processes, right from FC to customers, leveraging our Delivery center network.
- Building capacity in the network by appointing Service Partners and planning IHS points. Maintaining relationships with the Service Partners and building their capability.
- Responsible for hiring, training and building up a highly motivated workforce for the delivery teams, with support from HR and training team, to meet the operational requirements for the city, continuously meeting the high bar on quality and productivity.
- Ensuring enough bandwidth in citywide delivery team for peak time delivery management.
- Coordinating with Finance, CS, FC and Projects team for matters related to city operations.
- Conducting performance appraisals of the Delivery Center Managers and Channel Relationship Managers, mentoring them for efficient operations.
- Continuously improving the delivery process and attaining a sustained level of delivery performance standard. Initiating improvements to enhance quality standards, reduce waste, and eliminate unnecessary work.
- Analyzing data reports to identify performance bottlenecks and improving performance.
- Implementing formal process control and process improvement mechanisms such as Kaizen.
- Strong leadership capabilities and people management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure situations.
- Ability to work in ambiguous situations.
- Good communication skills. Ability to communicate and explain to individuals & the team what needs to be achieved for the Delivery Center /Amazon to achieve its objectives.
- Listening skills: Gains input and commitment from all involved.
- Ability to set and achieve timelines for tasks: Set realistic and stretching performance expectations for self and others, regularly reviewing progress and acting to ensure optimal results for the business.
- Strong bias for great customer service: Engaging the Team in developing their understanding of Customer Experience and knowledge of what Customers actually need/expects.
- High ownership: Following through to ensure the delivery of changes/solutions/services that fulfill the Customer's needs.
- Analytical skills: Effectively analyze and interpret information, identifying & validating the key facts, including reviewing alternatives to determine advantages and associated risks.
- Graduation.
- Experience in logistics field desirable.
- People management experience. Experience handling field team is highly desirable.
- Experience handling live operation preferred where decisions must be taken on the spot and actions initiated right away.
- Knowledge of the city topography is an added advantage.
- Experience in process improvement preferred with knowledge of specific methodologies such as Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.
- Masters degree in Operations will be an advantage.
- Strong familiarity with databases (querying and analyzing) such as SQL, MYSQL, Access, exception-based reporting etc is considered a plus.
