Why You'll Love It

If you're a Sports Therapist or Sports Rehabilitator who enjoys getting people moving just as much as you enjoy the hands on side of treatment, we think this could be a really good fit.

It's not a role where you'll spend your whole week doing massage, and it's not one where you'll simply hand someone an exercise sheet and wave them on their way either.

Our client takes a much more joined up approach. You'll use hands on treatment alongside progressive exercise rehabilitation to help patients recover, become stronger and get back to doing the things they love.

You'll also be surrounded by other clinicians rather than working away on your own. Physiotherapists, Podiatrists and other rehabilitation and movement professionals work together, giving you plenty of opportunity to learn from one another and be part of the patient's wider journey.

We particularly like the development side too. There's structured support, proper investment in training and the opportunity to develop further into areas such as Pilates.

For someone who wants to become a really well rounded therapist and keep developing clinically, there's a lot here to get stuck into.

All About You

We're looking for someone with a genuine interest in sports therapy, rehabilitation, exercise and hands on treatment.

You'll need to:

  • Hold a relevant degree level qualification in Sports Therapy or Sports Rehabilitation

  • Have a strong understanding of anatomy, movement, exercise rehabilitation and soft tissue techniques

  • Be confident delivering hands on manual therapy within your professional scope

  • Be comfortable designing, progressing and adapting individual rehabilitation programmes

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be able to motivate and encourage patients throughout their rehabilitation

  • Enjoy working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical team

  • Be open to feedback, learning and continued professional development

  • Bring plenty of energy, initiative and a positive approach to your work

You'll be someone who enjoys building relationships with patients and understands that great rehabilitation isn't just about what happens during an appointment. It's about giving people the confidence, knowledge and tools to keep progressing outside the treatment room too.

What Will You Be Doing?

This is a varied clinical role combining exercise rehabilitation with hands on manual therapy.

You'll work with patients to understand their goals, develop appropriate rehabilitation plans and help them progress safely and confidently.

Your day to day work will include:

  • Delivering individual rehabilitation programmes

  • Designing and progressing exercise programmes around individual patient needs and goals

  • Providing soft tissue and manual therapy

  • Supporting patients through different stages of injury recovery and rehabilitation

  • Helping patients improve strength, movement and confidence

  • Monitoring progress and adapting programmes accordingly

  • Educating patients around their rehabilitation and longer term self management

  • Maintaining accurate, high-quality clinical records

  • Communicating with other clinicians involved in a patient's care

  • Working collaboratively across the wider multidisciplinary team

  • Contributing ideas and feedback to the continued development of rehabilitation services

You'll also have the opportunity to develop your skills further, including training and development within Pilates as appropriate to the role.

Working Hours and Environment

This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week.

Our client operates across three established clinics within the Wiltshire and Somerset area. Clinical team members may work across two or three clinic locations depending on their agreed working pattern and the needs of the service.

You'll work within a professional multidisciplinary clinical environment where rehabilitation isn't treated as an add on to treatment. It's an important part of how the team helps patients recover, build resilience and stay active over the longer term.

Some flexibility around working hours may be required to provide appointments that suit patients, including availability outside traditional office hours.

Reaching Your Potential

This is a particularly good environment for a therapist who wants to keep learning rather than feel they've finished developing the minute they graduate.

You'll receive a structured induction when you join, followed by regular one to one meetings, peer review, in service training and access to an external training budget tailored towards your development needs.

You'll work alongside experienced clinicians from different professional backgrounds, giving you plenty of opportunity for shared learning, case discussion and exposure to different approaches to patient care.

Our client has grown from its Physiotherapy roots into an established multidisciplinary health and movement service, bringing together Physiotherapy, Podiatry, rehabilitation, manual therapy, gait analysis, Pilates and strength and movement.

Their approach is centred around helping people move beyond simply becoming pain free and towards becoming stronger, more confident and able to stay active for the long term.

For the right Sports Therapist or Sports Rehabilitator, it's a great place to build your clinical confidence, broaden your skillset and develop into a really rounded rehabilitation professional.

We will contact all shortlisted candidates. Please note that we retain the right to close the advert early if a suitable candidate is appointed. Employment offers are subject to satisfactory pre employment checks. Our client promotes diversity and equal opportunity.
