Are you a passionate Sports Coach who can inspire and motivate young people who face barriers to education? Do you have the confidence, resilience, and relationship building skills needed to engage students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? This alternative provision is looking to appoint a dedicated Sports Coach to join their supportive and dynamic team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with secondary aged students who have struggled in mainstream education and require additional support to re engage with learning. Sport plays a key role within the provision, helping students develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and self regulation skills.
Job Role- Deliver engaging sports and physical activity sessions
- Support secondary aged students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours
- Use sport as a tool to improve engagement, confidence and wellbeing
- Provide mentoring and positive role modelling for students
- Support behaviour management throughout the school day
- Assist students in lessons and intervention activities
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams and support staff
- Promote teamwork, resilience and positive attitudes to learning
- Work within a supportive and well established alternative provision
- Be part of a dedicated team focused on improving outcomes for young people
- Receive ongoing support and professional development
- Gain valuable experience working with SEMH students

- Experience working with young people in a coaching, education or support capacity
- Strong behaviour management and relationship building skills
- A valid DBS on the update service
- A passion for sport, physical activity and youth development
- The ability to remain calm, resilient and positive in challenging situations
- Experience supporting students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours (desirable)
- A commitment to helping young people achieve positive outcomes
