Speech and Language Therapists (SLT)

Location: Ireland

Salary: Depending on experience and HSE (Health Service Executive) pay scales

Job Summary

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Therapists (SLT) to join our client's team in Ireland. The successful candidates will work with individuals across the lifespan-children, adolescents, and adults-who have communication, swallowing, or feeding difficulties. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and providing evidence based interventions to support clients in achieving their communication and swallowing goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Diagnosis
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders.
    • Use standardized and non standardized assessment tools to evaluate clients' needs.
  • Intervention and Therapy
    • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to clients' needs.
    • Provide direct therapy to clients, either individually or in group settings.
    • Use evidence based practices to support clients in achieving their goals.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork
    • Work closely with families, caregivers, teachers and other health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and up to date client records in line with professional and organizational standards.
    • Prepare reports and documentation for referrals, funding applications and progress reviews.
  • Education and Training
    • Provide training and support to families, caregivers and other professionals on speech and language related issues.
    • Stay informed about the latest research and developments in the field of speech and language therapy.
  • Advocacy and Awareness
    • Advocate for clients' communication needs and promote awareness of speech and language therapy services in the community.
Qualifications and Experience Essential
  • A recognized qualification in Speech and Language Therapy (e.g., B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Speech and Language Therapy).
  • Registration with CORU (Ireland's regulator for health and social care professionals).
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Desirable
  • Experience working with specific populations (e.g., children with autism, adults with acquired neurological conditions).
  • Knowledge of Irish Sign Language (ISL) or other relevant languages.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
