Job Description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading food manufacturing business to recruit a Specifications Technologist to join their growing technical and NPD function. located in North Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-driven food professional who enjoys working cross-functionally, engaging with customers, and playing a key role in bringing products from concept through to launch.

As Specifications Technologist, you will act as a key link between internal teams and Own Label customers, ensuring product specifications are accurate, compliant, and delivered within agreed timeline.

Key duties
  • Manage product concepts from initial brief through to successful launch
  • Liaise directly with Own Label customers to gather project and specification requirements
  • Support completion of development briefs alongside the Development Chef
  • Ensure all product specifications are accurate, detailed, and fully compliant
  • Maintain and update specification documentation across all departments
  • Present project updates and respond to customer queries professionally
  • Actively participate in the HACCP team and food safety activities
  • Collaborate with NPD, Production, Quality, and Packaging teams to ensure alignment
  • Ensure products meet internal standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements
What you will need to succeed
  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline (preferred)
  • HACCP certification essential
  • 2-3 years' experience in specifications, technical, or quality roles within food manufacturing
  • Experience working with customer specifications and cross-functional teams
  • Strong understanding of product development processes
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational ability
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
