Specifications Technologist

Vickerstock are proud to be working alongside our highly respected Food Manufacturing client currently at the forefront of their market in the appointment of Specifications Technologist for their impressive Craigavon facility.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will provide skilled technical support by writing, approving and maintaining accurate finished product specifications within the required timeframes.

What your typical day as Specifications Technologist will look like:

• Finished product specifications - To provide skilled technical support by writing, approving and maintaining accurate finished product specifications within the required timeframes, ensuring information contained is consistent with the source data (e.g. raw material data, factory recipes/specs, etc) and compliant with customer requirements and relevant legislation.
• Artwork Approval - To ensure the timely approval of accurate, right first-time product pack copies and artwork in accordance with customer requirements and relevant legislation.
• Internal Audits - Be a member of the Internal Auditing team and carry out internal audits as required according to the Internal Audit schedule.
• Process approval of new products - Represent the Technical department at the handover of New Products from NPD to production, ensuring all documentation is accurate and in place e.g. work instructions, QAS and recipes.

A FULL LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE AVAILABLE UPON APPLICATION Your essential ingredients:

• Degree or equivalent in a technical, food related or science-based discipline.
• Previous experience with Retailer on-line specification portals.
• Be familiar with food safety management systems that comply with GFSI standards, including BRC.
• Self-motivated individual who has determination and drive to succeed
• First class communicator who has excellent interpersonal skills
• Commitment to Food Safety & Quality and a passion to promote food safety culture with a 'can-do' attitude you will have a commitment to support continuous improvement and change
• Team player who is also able to work unaccompanied
• Able to prioritise multiple activities/requirements and to complete them to the expected level of detail and accuracy
• PC skills with a good understanding of all Microsoft Office Packages
• Flexible approach to working hours in line with business needs
