An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Specialty Doctor to join Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will join a team of 3 Consultants supported by Specialist Doctors, and a Specialist Nursing Team.
The role will be based in the Paediatric Department, working Monday to Friday during on call rota hours, and will support child protection medical assessments.
The Trust welcomes discussion with individuals seeking a more flexible working pattern and hours to support a different work life balance.
Full GMC registration is required.
Main dutiesThrough personal development in agreement with relevant clinicians and identification of service needs, the post holder will:
- Attend outpatient clinics alongside consultants.
- Safeguard children referred for safeguarding and manage assessments.
- Participate in the on call rota hours.
- Attend monthly peer review meetings.
- Formulate appropriate management plans for patients under their care.
The post will be within the middle grade tier, working at Middle Grade level.
Community Paediatric Services offered- Child Protection
- Adoption and Fostering for the Local Authority
- School Health Services, providing advice regarding children with Special Educational Needs.
- ADHD and Autism
- Health Promotion
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- MRCPCH or equivalent medical qualification.
- Community Paediatric experience.
- Full GMC registration with a Licence to Practice.
- Applicants' knowledge is up to date and they are fit to practise safely.
- Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies in line with GMC standards.
- Evidence of achievement of ST1 & ST2 competences or equivalent in a relevant Specialty.
- Clinical judgement and ability to manage risk.
- Relevant specialty clinical knowledge in neurodevelopmental assessment.
- Practical skills required for paediatric care.
- Proven ability to work effectively in different clinical settings.
- Interest in neurodevelopmental assessments.
- Interest and experience in looked after children, adoptions and fostering.
- Effective communication skills, adapting language as appropriate.
- Empathy and sensitivity, listening to patients and families.
- Shared decision making and consideration of the full impact of clinical decisions.
- Supports patients to access information for decision making.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and appraisal.
- Engagement in audit and research activities.
- Teaching experience and interest.
- Active participation in clinical governance and reporting errors.
- Professional integrity and respect for others.
