Job Description
Overview

Women & Child and Families Clinical Care Group.

Specialty Doctor in CAMHS Outpatients

Permanent 10 session 8 DCC 2 SPA (no out of hours or weekend working)

Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and management of the whole range of mental health and neurodevelopmental difficulties presenting in children aged 6-18 years enrolled in school education, with duties tailored to experience and training.
  • Prescribe and adjust medications where required and supervise nurses in monitoring ADHD medication.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary CAMHS team to provide a patient-centred service for children and young people with mental health difficulties or neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Contribute to the development of the service; the precise job plan can be influenced by wider service developments and further training can be offered in assessment and treatment of mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Part-time hours will be considered.
Qualifications
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council.
  • At least four years' full-time postgraduate training (or equivalent part-time/flexible basis), at least two years in a specialty training programme in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or paediatrics, or as a fixed-term specialty trainee in CAMHS/paediatrics, or equivalent experience and competencies.
