Speciality Doctor - Community Post, Manchester, Yorkshire

Speciality Doctor Full Time 37.5 hours per week Competitive Salary based on Experience

This is a community post; the head office is in Stockport but the postholder will be required to travel between regional hubs in Manchester and Yorkshire.

You must be a driver with access to a vehicle.

Main Duties and Requirements
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • UK Registration - Applicants must have a current UK professional registration (see NHS Careers website)
  • Fully Registered GMC Medical Practitioner
  • Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • Completed Core Psychiatry Training with satisfactory ARCP
  • Approval under Sec 12 MHA 1983/current Approved Clinician Status
  • At least 6 months post foundation training experience in a psychiatry post within the United Kingdom
  • Experience working with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder in community or inpatient settings
  • Experience with eating disorders in inpatient or community settings
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
  • Knowledge or training in systemic models, attachment disorders and neurodevelopmental assessments
About Us

Care in Mind provides residential services for young people aged 16-30 years old. They require a high level of support for self harm, behaviour and emotional difficulties. The aim is to help them achieve individual goals and transition to adult life.

Care in Mind is a CQC registered provider offering publicly funded specialist mental health supported residential placements to the NHS and Local Authorities across the North of England.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical assessment, formulation and psychiatric interventions with adequate supervision to service users within Care in Minds care.
  • Promote an environment of service user involvement, recovery and user centred care.
  • Ensure that Care in Mind values and models of care are reflected in interventions offered and implemented.
  • Provide psychiatric consultation and advice to clinical and residential teams with adequate supervision.
  • Attend regular medical reviews for service users with adequate supervision.
  • Work into the Eating Disorder Service, reviewing physical health observations and investigations in line with MEED guidance and feeding into risk plans under adequate supervision.
  • Liaise with other relevant professionals and attend CPA and multis agency meetings as agreed with the Consultant Psychiatrist and/or wider MDT.
  • Document notes from consultations and MDT discussions accurately and contemporaneously.
  • Maintain an overview with the Consultant Psychiatrist of medication management plans, GP letters, MHA and mental capacity assessments.
  • Partake in Mental Health Act assessment across the service.
  • Participate in audit and service development in areas of interest under supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist.
  • Participate in referral reviews and assessments.
  • Always maintain confidentiality and comply with Care in Minds Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • Ensure completion of statutory and mandatory training.

Person Specification
