An exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Specialist Renal Dietitian to join our experienced renal dietetic team. The postholder will work as part of the renal dietetic team (and wider dietetic and renal services) at the Royal Devon University Healthcare (RDUH) NHS Foundation Trust based in Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Exeter.
Please note this is being offered as a band 5 to 6 Developmental opportunity.
Job Responsibilities- Provide renal dietetic care to pre dialysis and dialysis patients (inpatient and outpatient).
- Travel to haemodialysis satellite units as required, using your own vehicle.
- Plan, train, and supervise B and C placement student dietitians and educate nursing and medical students.
- Provide line management responsibilities for the dietetic team.
- Contribute to national and international projects, research and audit work.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence based care.
- Expand renal dietetic access for underserved populations across the geographical area.
- Participate in the planning, training and supervision of staff and students, and promote continuous improvement and audit of services.
- Qualified dietitian with specialist renal experience at Band 6 level.
- Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Excellent clinical judgement, communication and teaching skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to professional development and quality improvement.
- Experience in line management and training of staff or students a plus.
