About The Role
About the role:
We are looking for a dynamic and effective Specialist Care Teaching Assistant to join Ark Putney Academy. The successful candidate will be able to offer support to a student with cerebral palsy. The support will include attending to personal care needs (such as feeding, toileting and some medical procedures), supporting in classroom curriculum focused and physiotherapy activities and the use of an alternative communication device such as Dragon.
You will support the student, parents and teachers, to establish a supportive learning environment in which the student makes good academic progress. You will be instrumental in our mission to provide every student, regardless of their background, with a great education and real choices in life.

- Have experience or understanding of working with children with special educational needs.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children and adults.
- Possess good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Have a genuine belief in the potential of every child.
- Have a robust awareness of keeping children safe.
- Be a team player and able to remain calm under pressure.
