Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Location: Reading Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm Pay: From £89 per day

Make a Difference Every Day Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? We're working with a specialist all-age SEND school in Reading who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils with a range of needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). No two days are the same-this role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, challenge and the chance to make a lasting impact.

Your Role

• Support pupils in lessons, adapting activities to help them access learning.
• Assist with personal care when required.
• Respond to challenging behaviour with patience, resilience and empathy.
• Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
• Encourage independence, communication and social skills.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other staff to provide tailored support.

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND (essential).
• Confidence in managing challenging behaviour calmly and professionally.
• A caring, flexible and positive attitude.
• Willingness to provide personal care support when needed.
