Ellis Mack Recruitment is excited to be partnering with an expanding independent hospitality group to recruit an ambitious Sous Chef for an exciting new Bar & Restaurant in Edinburgh
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stylish, food-led operation from day one, working alongside an experienced Head Chef to help establish a high-performing kitchen brigade. The venue will showcase fresh, contemporary cuisine in a vibrant and fast-paced environment, making it an ideal opportunity for a passionate Sous Chef looking to take the next step in their career.

- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen.
- Lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring service runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Help maintain exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation across every service.
- Supervise, motivate and develop junior chefs, creating a positive team culture.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, stock rotation and minimising waste.
- Ensure all food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards are consistently achieved.
- Contribute to menu development, seasonal specials and continuous improvement of the food offering.
- Monitor kitchen performance to help achieve labour, food cost and gross profit targets.
- Be an experienced Sous Chef or a strong Junior Sous Chef ready to progress.
- Have experience within a quality fresh-food restaurant, premium bar or contemporary dining operation.
- Be passionate about producing high-quality food using fresh ingredients.
- Possess strong leadership skills and enjoy mentoring and developing others.
- Be organised, calm under pressure and capable of leading a busy kitchen service.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a commitment to consistently high standards.
- Have a stable work history with a genuine ambition to progress within a growing hospitality business.
