We are seeking a passionate and talented Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at Hetland Hall Hotel. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional dining experiences while helping to lead the kitchen team in a prestigious country house hotel setting. For candidates with the right level of experience, we would also consider appointment at Senior Sous Chef level. What You'll Be Doing:

• Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day management and operation of the kitchen.
• Lead and motivate the kitchen team in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring high standards are maintained at all times.
• Prepare and deliver high-quality dishes with consistency, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Assist with menu development, recipe creation, and seasonal specials.
• Help manage stock levels, ordering, food costs, and minimise waste.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
• Support the training and development of junior kitchen team members.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or an experienced Chef de Partie looking to take the next step.
• Candidates with significant leadership experience may be considered for a Senior Sous Chef position.
• Banqueting experience is advantageous.
• Strong culinary knowledge and a passion for producing exceptional food.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• The ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Experience in menu development, stock control, food safety, and supporting kitchen operations.
