Job Description
Job Title 
Sous Chef - Derby Heights Care Home (Littleover)
Job Responsibilities- Support the Head Chef in leading a culinary team that delivers a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive, and high quality culinary service to residents, maintaining quality within budget.
- Prepare modified diets that are appealing, balanced and in accordance with IDDSI guidance.
- Supervise and direct the work of culinary staff, providing instruction and demonstration to unqualified staff on simple food preparation activities.
- Apply safe food handling principles to ensure all food preparation meets the highest hygiene standards.
- Support culinary team members in fully understanding and following Avery's Food Safety Management System.
We are looking for a candidate who embodies our values of caring, support, honesty, respect and accountability. Candidates should:
- Hold a relevant catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or an equivalent NVQ.
- Have a minimum of one year of catering experience.
- Demonstrate compassion and a commitment to delivering high quality culinary services to residents.
- Be adaptable and flexible, able to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.
- ADBSC Disclosure check - cost borne by Avery Healthcare.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
- Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) - subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
