Salary: £28,000 per annum + tips

About the Role
Lumberjacks is a relaxed café/restaurant located on a family-run holiday complex just outside Kingham. We're looking for a reliable, practical Assistant Chef / Cook to support the Chef in a small kitchen and assist more broadly across the site when needed.
This is a varied, hands-on role . While the primary focus is kitchen prep and cooking, the role also includes general assistance such as basic front-of-house support and helping keep the site running smoothly during service.
This position suits someone who is willing to learn, flexible in approach, and happy to be part of a small, close-knit team.
Service Opening Hours Overview (Currently)
Restaurant service: 12:00pm - 9:00pm
Closed: Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Sundays
Your Typical Hours of Work:
Typical Kitchen working days:
Monday: 10:00am - 10:00pm
Thursday: 11:00am - 7:00pm
Friday: 10:00am - 10:00pm
Saturday: 10:00am - 10:00pm
Three days off each week.
1 hour unpaid lunchbreak per day, possibility for extra overtime hours.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the Chef with food prep and cooking
Assisting during service in the kitchen
Helping maintain cleanliness, organisation, and food safety standards
Basic front-of-house or site assistance when required
Stock handling and general kitchen duties
Being flexible and supportive during busy periods
About You
We're open to any level of experience - training can be provided, although experience would be beneficial.
You should:
Be willing to work in a small kitchen environment
Be practical, reliable, and hands-on
Have an interest in food and hospitality
Be comfortable helping with a mix of kitchen and general duties
Work well as part of a small team
Be calm, organised, and willing to learn
This is not a fine-dining or high-pressure brigade role - it suits someone who enjoys variety and a supportive working environment.
