Are you an experienced Sous Chef with a passion for creating exceptional dishes in a vibrant coastal setting? We are looking for a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team in Clontarf, Dublin. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a highly regarded restaurant and bar, known for its fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a relaxed yet high quality dining experience.
About the RoleAs Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee the kitchen, ensuring that every dish is prepared to the highest standard. You will assist with menu development, drawing inspiration from local, seasonal ingredients, while leading a dedicated kitchen team. You'll be involved in all aspects of kitchen operations, from food preparation to stock management, and will play a key role in maintaining smooth, efficient service.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Head Chef with menu planning and the preparation of high quality dishes, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients
- Lead and motivate kitchen staff, ensuring they uphold the restaurant's high standards
- Oversee food preparation, presentation, and service to ensure consistency and quality
- Ensure the kitchen complies with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
- Assist with managing stock levels, ordering, and receiving deliveries
- Train and develop junior kitchen staff, encouraging skill growth and progression
- Support the Head Chef in managing kitchen costs, controlling food waste, and optimizing resources
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a small team
- Excellent culinary skills and an eye for detail in food preparation and presentation
- Experience in a busy restaurant or bar environment
- Passion for using seasonal, local produce, especially seafood
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high standards
- Strong knowledge of food safety and health & safety regulations
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak season
