Shift Details: 7 am-3:30 pm / 11 am-7:30 pm. At Avery Healthcare, we support the people who care for our residents. We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our award winning team as a Sous Chef - Bank at Elton House Care Home in Watford.

Responsibilities
  • Support the head chef in leading a culinary team that provides a nutritionally balanced, high quality culinary service.
  • Prepare modified diets in accordance with IDDSI guidance.
  • Supervise and direct the work of culinary staff, providing instruction and demonstration to unqualified staff on simple food preparation activities.
  • Apply safe food handling principles to ensure all food preparation meets the highest hygiene standards.
  • Support all culinary team members in fully understanding the Avery Food Safety Management System.
  • Cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
Qualifications
  • Relevant catering qualification: City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of catering experience.
  • Demonstrates compassion and commitment to delivering high quality culinary services to residents.
  • Adapts flexibly to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
Additional requirements
  • DBS Disclosure check - cost covered by Avery Healthcare.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
