As a Sonographer in Pontyclun, you will deliver comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound services, performing varied examinations to aid patient diagnosis and treatment. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, ensuring accurate, patient focused care while upholding rigorous professional standards.
Salary: £60 £65 per hour

About the RoleAs a Sonographer, you will provide high quality diagnostic ultrasound services, performing a range of examinations to support the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of patients across multiple clinical specialties. You will work closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver accurate, patient centred care while maintaining the highest professional standards.
Key Responsibilities- Setting up and maintaining ultrasound equipment
- Performing ultrasound examinations on patients
- Producing images from ultrasound examinations
- Interpreting ultrasound images to aid patient diagnosis
- Carrying out training on ultrasound equipment for other healthcare professionals
- Addressing patient concerns before, during, and after ultrasound examinations
- Keeping up to date records of scans performed and images produced
- Referring patients to other healthcare professionals and facilities when necessary
- Soothing and reassuring nervous or anxious patients
Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound/Sonography or an equivalent recognised qualification. 2 years' experience working as a Sonographer within a clinical or hospital environment.
Skills- In depth understanding of the principles of medicine and healthcare
- Knowledge of human physiology and anatomy
- Working knowledge of transducers and other ultrasound equipment
- Excellent bedside manner
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent physical stamina and the ability to stand for long hours
- Thoroughness and attention to detail
