Solutions Architect

We are looking for a freelance Solution Architect to support a long-term transformation initiative involving complex payroll integrations and architectural development. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful, multi-country HR, Payroll and Finance technology programs within a collaborative, professional setting where your expertise is recognized and valued.

Duration: Until 31/12/2025 - Extension Possible (Long-Term Projects)

Contract Type: Freelance Preferred Supplier Relationship

Location: The Hague (2-3 days per week on-site)

Key Responsibilities - How You'll Make an Impact

This role offers the chance to take ownership of technical solutions, influence design decisions, and shape integrated systems that support business-critical functions across several countries. Key responsibilities include:

• Architecture Design: Deliver clear, well-documented technical solution diagrams and supporting documentation for a broad integration landscape, including payroll systems, time-tracking tools, benefit providers, and finance applications. This would include integrations from APRO / Workday to Strada and from Strada to various Finance systems
• Documentation & Communication: Maintain architecture deliverables (Dynamic Solution Intent) in the central Wiki, ensuring clarity and reusability for technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
• Consulting & Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to project teams, aligning designs with enterprise architecture standards and offering solutions that improve performance and maintain compliance.
• Leadership & Influence: While primarily an individual contributor role, there is room to guide junior colleagues and represent the architecture function in cross-functional settings.
• Innovation & Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance systems using emerging technologies, ensuring designs reflect industry best practices.
• Tool Proficiency: Use standard architecture tools (such as IBM System Architect, PowerDesigner, or ProVision) to create and manage architectural artifacts effectively.

What We're Looking For (Mandatory Skills)

We're looking for an experienced architect who is technically strong and a confident communicator:

• Strong experience with Payroll system integration and Workday
• Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence at senior levels
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, tailored to a range of audiences
• Ability to connect business needs with architectural solutions using industry knowledge
• Experience in: Solution Architecture; Solution Evaluation; Architectural Thinking (Certification is a plus)

• Familiarity with complex payroll and finance systems integrations
• Experience working across multiple geographies and time zones
