Solicitor Catastrophic loss

The Major Injury & Casualty team at DWF is recruiting a Solicitor with a background in large complex motor and Employers Liability/Public Liability (EL/PL) cases.

Office based in Liverpool; attendance required at least once per week.

Responsibilities

• Work with Partners to manage a caseload of high-value claims (value £100 000 - £20 m+), including catastrophic injury, EL/PL and motor matters.
• Draft pleadings, reports to clients, attend court hearings, manage court deadlines, conduct liability investigations, gather evidence, instruct experts and consider complex medical causation issues.
• Prioritise work to maximise efficiency, meet court deadlines, and adhere to clients' service level agreements.
• Build working relationships internally and externally to maintain client relationships, develop business networks, and understand the firm's direction and client needs.

Qualifications

• 1+ years PQE within litigation and catastrophic injury, large loss or serious injury case experience, with case values over £100 000.
• Technical experience or strong interest in Employers Liability, Public Liability, Motor, Catastrophic Injury, Serious Injury, Personal Injury, Large Loss or Complex Loss work.
• Ideal experience handling high-value defendant files either independently or assisting senior team members; claimant experience considered.
• Familiarity with working in a commercial environment.
