About the job

My client is a leading international law firm is seeking a talented Associate or Senior Associate to join its highly regarded Construction Disputes team in London. This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading practice advising on high-value and complex domestic and international construction and engineering disputes across major development, infrastructure, and energy projects.

You will advise a broad client base including developers, contractors, specialist subcontractors, investors, infrastructure businesses, and public sector organisations on a wide range of contentious construction matters.

The team handles disputes across multiple forums, including adjudication, arbitration, and Technology and Construction Court litigation.

Typical matters include:

  • Delay and disruption claims
  • Defects disputes
  • Final account and payment disputes
  • Professional negligence claims
  • Termination and project breakdown disputes
  • Enforcement of adjudication decisions
  • Multi-party disputes involving consultants, insurers, and contractors
  • Risk management and dispute avoidance advice during live projects

You will also gain exposure to disputes arising under key industry-standard contracts including JCT, NEC, and FIDIC.

Suitable candidates are likely to have:

  • England & Wales qualification or common law equivalent with at least 4 years' PQE
  • Experience in construction disputes gained at a recognised law firm
  • Exposure to adjudication, arbitration and/or TCC litigation
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and case management skills
  • Ability to manage client relationships confidently
  • Commercial and pragmatic approach to dispute resolution
