Job Description

Our customers are passionate about cycling; therefore, we are developing a variety of indoor cycling trainers to provide them with the best indoor experience. As a Software Quality Engineer, you will participate in the validation of our Apps before they are released to our public. You will be testing new features and the connectivity with the Tacx trainers to ensure a superb product experience. In this role, you will be working closely with the Quality Assurance Engineers, the Product owners and developers.


The Software & App Development team

The team has grown rapidly in the past 3 years. Currently, it consists of 45 people and 10 different nationalities. The Tacx App on IOS, Android and Desktop connects with Tacx trainers bringing reality and engagement to indoor rides. With our extensive collection of real-life cycling videos, we serve ten thousands of people monthly. In this client-facing product environment we continuously need to improve performance, quality, features and design. Next to this we are a growing part of Garmin ecosystem, creating an all-season cycling experience.


What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

  • Independently test our software applications on mobile, desktop and websites.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of comprehensive test plans; collaborate closely with developers to execute test cases, identify defects, and report findings clearly.
  • Able or willing to build and maintain reliable, and reusable automated test scripts for mobile, and/or API testing.
  • Evaluate and validate the interaction of Tacx Trainers within the application ecosystem.
  • Conduct manual regression testing for new releases and updates; maintain and refine regression test scenarios to support continuous delivery.
  • Actively participate in Agile sprint ceremonies by testing user stories and verifying compliance with acceptance criteria.
  • Test backend APIs, including both RESTful and GraphQL endpoints.
  • Pro-actively address any issues or bugs and solve these if prioritized.


What do we expect from you?

  • Genuine interest in Apps and software technology, and preferably some programming, testing or similar experience.
  • 1-5 years of experience and a strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile/Scrum processes.
  • Experience in Test automation Backend API or Mobile Apps (e.g, Java and Rest Assured).
  • A passion for sporting equipment or consumer electronics such as our Tacx & Garmin products.
  • Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Xray).
  • You are genuinely curious and constantly striving to learn.
  • Good communication skills in English and preferably Dutch.
  • As a person you are proactive, detail-oriented, self-directed and organized.
