About the role

As a Software Engineer you are part of the Engineering team at Code Orange. In your role you will build and maintain innovative projects for our clients such as Stellantis, Parnassia and lots of projects for the Dutch government.

For this you use the latest technologies and choose the best tool for the job in a technology driven environment. Together with business stakeholders you develop solutions that solve our customers' business problems by going through the software development life cycle. You will work closely with your software engineer colleagues, our product owners and designers who are just as enthusiastic about innovation and technology as you.

Responsibilities

• Write clean and efficient code
• Recommend and implement improvements
• Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
• Development in an Agile environment
• Build high quality back-end applications and services
• Build highly scalable web applications
• Responsible for software architecture patterns
• Ensure secure software engineering in accordance with best practices and standards
• Work closely with a strong and highly motivated multidisciplinary team
• Bridge the communication between back-end and front-end
• Push the team's boundaries by searching new trends and understand them as viable options for our products

Characteristics we look for

• Theoretical background (university or bachelor ) in computer science and engineering (or the equivalent)
• Preferably full stack or else minimum requirements see below at 'Tech requirements ' per type of engineer
• At least 3 years of work experience in software development
• Experience with working in a software development team
• Ambition and ability to write clean code with clear, extensive documentation
• Self-motivated, responsible and eager to learn more
• Proficient in English
• Experience with continuous delivery processes
• Experience working with Agile methodologies

Tech requirements we look for

• Experience with at least one PHP framework (Laravel, CodeIgniter, Symfony)
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
• JS frameworks knowledge: React, Angular or Vue.js
• Build setup knowledge (npm yarn webpack)
• Experience with distributed version control (git)
• Accessibility knowledge and a keen eye for UI details and implementation

Bonus Points (Nice to Have)

• Experience with headless CMSes
• Experience with Electron and Ruby on rails
• Cloud solution experience with Amazon Web Services
• Proficiency in the Dutch language
• AWS certificates

• Salary between 3.150 - 3.950 euro depending on experience and knowledge
