As a Software Manager, you will play a key role in growing our healthcare data ecosystem. You will lead and develop engineers working on complex, high impact capabilities that sit at the heart of how health data is used safely and effectively. You will be trusted with meaningful responsibility from the start, shaping technical direction, raising standards, and contributing directly to the success of the product and the business.

In This Role You Will

• Build, grow, and lead a high calibre team of engineers responsible for the core platforms that power Datavant's Enterprise Engineering function. Set a high bar for quality, pace, and accountability, and create a team that takes real pride in its work.
• Shape and own the technical direction for Enterprise Engineering, ensuring it supports Datavant's broader mission to make health data secure, accessible, and useful. Make sure the architecture is sound, scalable, and built for the long term.
• Work shoulder to shoulder with product and design to deliver practical value to customers. Focus on solving real problems in a way that is reliable, compliant, and commercially meaningful.
• Play a central role in the success of the Enterprise Engineering organisation. Help drive impact by bringing clarity to how platform capability, business priorities, regulatory requirements, and product needs come together into strong, scalable systems.
• Lead innovation with purpose. Put clear structure around how new ideas are assessed, prioritised, and delivered so that we move quickly without losing discipline or trust.
• Stay close to the detail when it matters. Step in to lead complex or high impact initiatives directly, particularly where judgement, pace, or technical depth are critical.
• Communicate with intent. Coach and mentor engineers and leaders alike, building a culture where people take ownership, support one another, and consistently deliver for customers and the business.

• You have led high performing engineering organisations, ideally within healthcare or another regulated environment such as financial services, where quality, security, and reliability are non negotiable. You understand how to operate within constraints without using them as excuses.
• You are organised, dependable, and steady under pressure. Your teams ship what they say they will. Your plans are thought through. Your systems scale because you have built them properly.
• Most importantly, you are not looking to simply manage a team. You want to build something that stands the test of scale and time.
