Position summaryWhile being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills- Formal training or certification on Databricks concepts and proficient applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced in one or more programming languages, with Python required.
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more disciplines (e.g., cloud, AI, ML, mobile).
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little oversight.
- Experience performing data analytics on AWS platforms.
- Experience in writing efficient SQLs, implementing complex ETL transformations on big data platforms.
- Experience with Big Data technologies (Spark, Impala, Hive, Redshift, Kafka, etc.).
- Experience in data quality testing; adept at writing test cases and scripts, resolving data issues.
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Iceberg.
- Experience in application and data design disciplines with emphasis on real-time processing (e.g., Kafka).
- Understanding of the Commercial & Investment Bank business.
- Proficiency across database and BI tools; ability to publish and present information engagingly.
- Financial Services and Banking experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with NoSQL (DynamoDB, Cassandra) and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
