We move fast, with precision, and always execute with privacy at the forefront.We're looking for a Software Engineer (Android) to join the Lens+ Subscription team (a part of Consumer Gen AI Product Engineering org) at Snap!What you'll do: Create and refine high performance Android apps that push the limits of mobile technology Develop products for Lens+ Subscribers Build fun, new products that are very stable and run smoothly Design, architect and implement well-tested Java and Kotlin software which powers experiences in Snapchat's camera Conceptualize, develop, and launch new features Carefully evaluate the technical tradeoffs of every decision Work with the Product and Design teams to hone in on the best UI and infrastructure practices Carry out code reviews to guarantee code qualityKnowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proven understanding of the Android platform internals and system services that operate "under the hood". Knowledge of operating system fundamentals, compilers, and performance considerations for low-power, resource-constrained mobile environments. Proficiency with multithreading and concurrency on Android (e.g., threading primitives, executors, coroutines) and performance optimization techniques. Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and solid problem-solving skills. Knowledge of software design patterns and Android best practices. Ability to independently evaluate technical tradeoffs and make informed decisions that balance performance, scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and optimize complex systems using Android tooling and profiling techniques. Proactive and collaborative team player with effective communication skills; capable of mentoring junior engineers and contributing constructively to cross-team technical discussions.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience Experience developing Android apps using Kotlin or Java. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (product, design, backend).
