Join our dev team in Rugby and utilize your software skills to develop cutting-edge solutions used in GE Power Conversion's range of Remote Monitoring, Engineering, and HMI Operator Interface products and systems.

Glimpse of what you'd be working on as a developer in GE Vernova

This role focuses on:

  • Maintaining and developing both frontend and backend of our core security software solution written in NodeJS and AngularJS, used across various GE Vernova products.
  • Working in agile sprints within small, self-motivated teams, collaborating with Product Leadership to transform customer needs into next-generation control and communication products that are cloud-connected.
  • Creating UI/UX wireframes to demonstrate to stakeholders following corporate branding guidelines.
  • Participating in all software development phases from requirements gathering to deployment.
  • Writing technical documentation like user manuals and test specifications.
  • Engaging with internal customers for requirements gathering, mock-ups, feasibility studies, and technical advice.
  • Collaborating with other teams and adhering to industry standards to ensure product quality.

We seek a dedicated senior developer with:

  • Experience developing UI's using modern frameworks (AngularJS, VueJS, React, etc.)
  • Proficiency in AngularJS and NodeJS for frontend and backend development
  • Knowledge of at least one other high-level programming language such as C# or C++
  • Good understanding of JQuery, CSS, Bootstrap
  • Knowledge of the MVVM architectural pattern
  • A relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with modern software development paradigms like microservices and testing
  • Strong communication skills
  • Legal right to work in the UK

Preferred extras include:

  • Experience with automated UI testing frameworks (Robot, Cypress)
  • DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
  • Experience with RAD, TDD, Agile methodologies
  • Understanding of cybersecurity in software development
  • Ability to produce structured documentation for customers
  • Knowledge of our industry, products, and platforms
