The Informatics team owns the security telemetry mission in AWS. We collect, enrich and vend massive volumes of security-related data from millions of hosts across globally distributed regions.

As a Security Software Development Engineer on the Informatics team, you will develop software on RUST that collects, enriches and vends Linux security telemetry data. The solutions you deliver are foundational in supporting the security and audit missions of AWS teams.

Key job responsibilities

• Scale and Impact - Build simple solutions to complex problems in collecting, enriching and vending massive volumes of security-related data. Deliver high-performing, scalable solutions that meet AWS availability expectations. Raise the bar on storage and compute optimizations and champion automation to generate efficiencies for us and our customers.
• Growth - Own end-to-end scoping, design, development, test and deployment of features across regions worldwide. Work with a data-driven team that values intuition, metrics and customer-centricity.
• Collaboration - Work with diverse software development engineers, share knowledge through documentation, design reviews, code reviews and pairing.

A day in the life

As an experienced Software Development Engineer, you will build and own software related to Linux security telemetry data collection, enrichment and vending. You will work with a world-class team to create innovative and scalable solutions for real-world security challenges. You will build and validate, and support continuous integration and continuous delivery solutions to collect, enrich and vend Linux security telemetry data using Go, Python and TypeScript. You will build using the full library of AWS technologies.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in professional software development (non-internship).
• Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability and scaling.
• Programming with at least one software programming language.
• Must be a national of an EU Member state.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience with the full software development life cycle, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations.
