Software Development Apprenticeship

In this role, you'll work towards your Level 3 Data Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A day in the job:

Development and Coding:

  • Writes logical, maintainable, and efficient code following organisational coding standards
  • Contributes to code repositories using GitHub and DevOps
  • Builds front end, back end, or full stack components of software projects
  • Integrates software with APIs and databases
  • Manages databases - SQL, XML & JSON

Project Management:

  • Tracks and manages tasks using Jira

Learning and Development:

  • Engages in self learning activities to improve technical skills and knowledge
  • Works towards obtaining certification in a specified IBM product

Testing:

  • Identifies and documents bugs (functional, syntax, logical, calculation, unit level, system level)
  • Supports non functional / functional testing for performance, security, and usability
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
  • Salary £21,000
  • This role is permanent, working Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
  • 33 days annual leave (includes public holidays)

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge of a programming language (Python, Java, SQL)
  • Familiarity with version control systems, preferably GitHub
  • Understanding of integrated development environments, especially Eclipse
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Self motivated with a proactive learning attitude
Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships:

Learn to create, test, and implement code as part of a professional software development team.

With our unique apprenticeship programme, you'll build an impressive range of coding skills - and learn to thrive as a junior developer.

You'll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real time classes with our expert trainers and self paced courses created by industry specialists.
