Social Worker Senior Practitioner within the MASH Team in Middlesbrough, earning £31.74 per hour. Working at the front door of Children's Services, you will play a vital role in safeguarding children and young people while supporting practitioners, driving quality practice, and ensuring effective multi-agency responses to concerns.

- Safeguarding Practice: Receive, screen, and assess referrals relating to children and young people, ensuring timely and appropriate safeguarding responses.
- Complex Assessments: Undertake and oversee complex assessments, determining risk levels and appropriate interventions.
- Professional Leadership: Provide mentoring, guidance, and support to social workers, newly qualified practitioners, and students.
- Case Oversight: Manage and oversee a small caseload of complex safeguarding cases requiring advanced professional judgement.
- Decision Making: Support the Team Manager with case decisions, risk analysis, and safeguarding strategies.
- Multi-Agency Working: Work closely with police, health services, education providers, and other partners to share information and coordinate interventions.
- Legal Processes: Prepare reports, statements, and documentation for court proceedings, strategy meetings, and multi-agency forums.
- Quality Assurance: Undertake audits, provide constructive feedback, and support continuous service improvement activities.
- Service Development: Contribute to the development of MASH procedures, policies, and implementation of legislative changes.
- Performance Management: Support service performance, ensuring statutory timescales and quality standards are consistently achieved.
- Equality and Inclusion: Promote anti-discriminatory practice, equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout all aspects of service delivery.
- Social Work Qualification: Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Registration: Current Social Work England registration.
- Experience: Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care and safeguarding services.
- MASH Experience: Previous experience within a MASH, Front Door, Assessment, or Safeguarding Team is highly desirable.
- Legislative Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and relevant safeguarding legislation.
- Leadership Skills: Experience supporting, mentoring, and guiding colleagues within a social work environment.
- Assessment Skills: Proven ability to complete complex assessments and make robust safeguarding decisions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and report-writing abilities.
- Multi-Agency Working: Demonstrable experience working effectively with a range of partner agencies and stakeholders.
