Social Worker (PW3)

Looking for a Social Work role where you can truly make a difference?

We're looking for a Senior Practitioner/Social Worker to join our team at Newry Family Resource Centre, part of Barnardo's. We're a trusted, long-standing service that supports families through tough times, helping them find strength and stability.

This role is all about working directly with children and families-listening, understanding, and helping them move forward. You'll carry out assessments and offer therapeutic support that can make a lasting impact.

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Are a qualified Social Worker (with post-AYE experience)
  • Have experience working with children and families undertaking assessment
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with both children and adults
  • Work well in a team and bring a positive, can-do attitude
  • Believe in people's potential and want to help them reach it
  • Are flexible and ready to adapt to meet families' needs
  • Are committed to learning and growing in your role

Job details:

Hours: Permanent, part-time (29.6 hours per week)
Location: Newry, (You will also be expected to travel to the other Barnardo's sites, primarily Armagh and Dungannon Family Resource Centre) and occasional travel throughout the Southern Trust area.
Salary: £35,390.46 - £43,392.02 (FTE)
Closing date: Midnight, Sunday 5th October 2025

We'll also be creating a waiting list for similar roles that may come up across Barnardo's NI in the next year.
