We are seeking a registered Social Worker to join our integrated multi disciplinary Community Mental Health team in Pentwyn, Cardiff. The role involves working with individuals presenting with a wide range of mental health conditions, their carers and families.

This post includes a £3,000 market supplement in addition to the listed salary and a further £2,800 AMHP allowance where applicable. The position is full time and permanent.

Responsibilities

• Assess the needs of citizens and their carers and develop appropriate care plans and risk management plans.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with the Social Services and Well Being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.
• Provide support and advocacy within the community mental health setting while working under pressure.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Registered with Social Care Wales.
• Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
• Full valid driving licence and availability to use a car during working hours.
• Knowledge and experience in mental health practice; experience of working in a mental health setting is preferable.
• Approval to act as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) or willingness to undertake AMHP training.
• Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced check clearance.
• Ability to speak Welsh and other community languages is an advantage.

Additional information

Job requires registration with Social Care Wales and a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced check. The salary includes a market supplement and AMHP allowance as described above. Applicants must have a valid driving licence and be able to travel to the workplace.
