Join our dedicated team in Tameside, where we are committed to making a real difference in the lives of children and families. We are seeking passionate, innovative, and committed Social Workers for our Duty and Assessment as well as Safeguarding and Support teams. This role offers the opportunity to engage in meaningful work that impacts lives directly, supported by a comprehensive induction programme and continuous professional development.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Take cases from the point of referral in the Duty team, complete assessments, strategy meetings, initiate legal proceedings and PLO where required, before transferring cases to the long-term team.
  • In the long-term teams, work with children and families needing longer-term support under Child in Need, Child Protection, Public Law Outline, and Care Proceedings.
  • Receive regular supervision and work within a supportive culture aimed at delivering effective social work practice.
  • Engage in continuous learning and development, including dedicated time to observe practice.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Substantial previous childcare social work experience.
  • Strong needs assessment and risk assessment skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary system and across services with other agencies.
  • Relevant professional qualification for the role at Level 6 or above.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Maintained membership of a regulated body (if required for the role).
  • High professional standards practised to the expected level.
