What you will do

• Lead, supervise and manage a Locality Team of social workers, steering them towards achieving high standards of practice and effective case management.
• Provide oversight of complex safeguarding, Child Protection, Child in Need, Looked After Children and Public Law Outline cases, ensuring all procedures align with statutory regulations.
• Chair and attend key professional meetings, strategy discussions, legal gateway panels, and multi-agency planning forums, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
• Ensure assessments, plans, reviews, and interventions are completed within statutory timescales and achieve measurable outcomes, delivering impactful results for children and families.

Person Specification Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work, BA (Hons) Social Work, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Evidence of continuous professional development relevant to children's social care leadership.

Registration & Compliance

• Current registration with Social Work England.

Experience

• Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
• Substantial experience managing complex statutory social work services and safeguarding interventions.
• Proven leadership experience within a Locality, Assessment, Safeguarding or Family Support Team.
