What you will do:
  • Lead and manage a team of social workers by providing effective supervision, support, and performance management.
  • Oversee assessments and referrals, ensuring decisions are timely and align with statutory safeguarding mandates.
  • Allocate and review cases, maintaining oversight of risk, quality, and service outcomes.
  • Ensure high-quality child and family assessments, such as Section 17 and Section 47, accompany appropriate care planning.
  • Drive practice leadership and quality assurance, raising standards across the team.
  • Collaborate closely with multi-agency partners including the police, health, and education sectors in safeguarding decisions.
  • Manage team performance, workload, and resources, ensuring adherence to statutory timescales.
  • Handle complex cases, escalations, and even court-related work when required.
