Job Title: Social Care Manager 1, Mental Health Intellectual Disability

Job Location: Ballinasloe Co Galway

Essential Requirements

• Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc
• One of the following registrations:
  1. Registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board (CORU).
  2. Hold a CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration.
  3. Registered as a nurse in the General, Intellectual Disability or Psychiatric Division of the Register of Nurses kept by Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann (Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered.
• 3 years experience of working with adults with intellectual disabilities.
• Suitable standard of professional attainments.
• Requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office).
• Full competence and capability in the role and in a state of health to render regular and efficient service.
• Good character.

Post Specific Requirements

• Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in Intellectual Disabilities as relevant to the role, including experience in a managerial and administrative capacity in a social care setting.
• Demonstrate knowledge and experience of quality audit / assurance systems.
• Demonstrate knowledge and experience of managing change in services with a focus on meeting presenting needs, wills and preferences.

Salary: The salary scale for the post at 01/06/2026: €57,484-€58,726-€59,968-€63,279-€64,563-€65,837-€67,130
