gap personnel are recruiting a Security Operations Centre Operative for a fast-growing UK retailer based in Plymouth. This is a key role within the Head Office Security team, monitoring systems and responding to incidents across the business.

Role Overview

As a SOC Operative, you will monitor security systems, CCTV, and alarms, respond to incidents, provide first-line technical support, and ensure continuity of operations. You will uphold high standards of confidentiality and compliance, supporting both proactive and reactive security measures.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV, alarms, and security systems, responding to incidents promptly
• Escalate issues according to protocols and liaise with internal teams and emergency services
• Conduct system checks and report faults
• Support shift handovers and maintain operational continuity
• Maintain accurate records and GDPR compliance
• Provide first-line technical support for security technology

About You

• Calm under pressure, organised, and tech-savvy
• Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong communication, multitasking, and time-management skills
• Experience in a control room or similar environment (desirable but not essential)
• High level of integrity and a proactive mindset

• Position: Temp to Perm, Full-time
• Hours: 12-hour night shifts, 4-on, 4-off rota (flexible)
