Small Works Mechanical Project/Contracts Manager

1st Step Solutions Ltd (The Electrical & Mechanical Recruitment Specialists) We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Mechanical Building Services Contractor for the following permanent role.

Required: Small Works Mechanical Project/Contracts Manager

Contract: Full-time & permanent

Start Date: ASAP

Location: North Somerset

Salary: up to £70k p/a (+ Bonus Scheme)

Car Allowance: £8k p/a

Holidays: 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays

Additional Benefits: Life cover & bonus scheme

Office Hours: 8.30 - 5.30pm

Role & Responsibilities

• You will have the chance to manage and further develop a well-established Small Works Division with an existing, loyal client base.
• Lead a team of experienced professionals (Contracts Engineer, Administration team, site-based Engineers) delivering mechanical services (commercial heating, plumbing & air conditioning) for small works and maintenance.
• Expand the scope of services, identify new business opportunities, and foster stronger client relationships while maintaining high standards of service and delivery.
• Oversee projects with values typically ranging from £10k-100k (some up to £250k), including boiler houses/plant rooms, across education, healthcare and private sectors.
• Operate within locations generally within 1 hour of Bristol.
• Mentor and develop the Small Works Division to achieve growth targets, including potential profit-sharing arrangements.

This role would potentially suit a Mechanical Supervisor looking to take their first step into Project Management. The employer is also interested in an experienced Small Works/PPM Mechanical Project Manager who can increase the company's client base in return for a profit share.

The company is a local privately owned Mechanical Building Services contractor, established for over 15 years with an £11m turnover; offering surveys, design, install and maintenance services.
