Manual Machinist (Colchester 1500 lathe) - Croydon£16-£20 per hour Full-time or Part-time ConsideredA well-established Croydon-based engineering company specialising in emergency hydraulic and pneumatic repairs alongside planned maintenance services is looking to recruit an experienced Manual Machinist to join their team.This role will primarily involve machining and repairing steel cylinders and hydraulic rams, so previous hands-on experience and the ability to confidently operate a Colchester 1500 manual lathe is essential.Key Responsibilities:

• Manual machining of hydraulic cylinders and rams
• Repair and refurbishment work on steel components
• Supporting both reactive repair jobs and scheduled maintenance work
• Maintaining high quality and safety standards in the workshop

Requirements:

• Proven experience operating a Colchester 1500 lathe
• Strong manual machining background (turning, repairs, refurbishment)
• Ability to work independently with confidence from day one
• Engineering mindset with attention to detail
