Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 06:00-14:00. Total hours per week: 40.
IntroductionAn exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the successful Savers Supply Chain as a Site Trainer at the Stead House Distribution Centre in Darlington. The primary hours will be the shifts listed above, but flexibility will be required across all other shift patterns.
About the roleAs part of the Site MHE instructor team, you will ensure that all training is completed and recorded in line with company policy. You will deliver MHE training-basic and refresher-covering equipment such as PPT, CBT, RT, VNA, MEWP, and other equipment, including FLT battery change procedures. The purpose is to train MHE operators to work safely and to continually reduce accidents and incidents.
SHDC supplies stock to over 200 Savers stores on a weekly basis. This is a fast paced, busy environment where a passion for results and a commitment to high standards are essential.
Key roles and responsibilities- Deliver training to all MHE staff on the use of the FMS system (Fleet Management System).
- Complete and support site inductions of MHE/Manual Handling for all FTE and agency staff.
- Support the Risk Assessment (RA) and Safe System of Work (SSOW) completion with the nominated person(s).
- Provide a consistently high level of technical skills training to support the operations area through a variety of delivery methods.
- Support onsite training buddies to deliver an exceptional service.
- Review training content and update as required, ensuring all training is in line with RTITB/ITTSAR recommendations and delivered to those standards.
- Keep updated on changes to RTITB and ITTSAR standards to ensure training remains fit for purpose.
- Act as a safety ambassador within the DC by completing Behavioural Safety Audits on a regular basis.
- You enjoy working with people and can engage and motivate them.
- You have good communication skills and an in-depth knowledge of how the FLT department works.
- You have the patience and presence required to help inexperienced operators become good, safe drivers.
- You are self motivated and can work with minimal supervision.
- You are honest, reliable, and dedicated to your role.
- You have a strong work ethic with meticulous attention to detail.
- You have a good attitude and aptitude with a willingness to learn new skills.
- You can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
