Site Supervisor - Primary School

Job Title: Site SupervisorLocation: BurnleyAbout the Role We are seeking a reliable, proactive and highly organised Site Supervisor to join our friendly primary school team. This is a key role responsible for ensuring our school premises are safe, secure, well-maintained and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining high standards and will play an important part in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school.Key Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the school site daily, including security checks
• Ensuring the safety, cleanliness and general upkeep of buildings and grounds
• Carrying out minor repairs, maintenance and DIY tasks
• Liaising with contractors and overseeing works on site
• Managing health and safety compliance, including risk assessments and record keeping
• Conducting regular site inspections and reporting issues
• Maintaining heating, lighting and alarm systems
• Supporting school events with room setup and site arrangements
• Ensuring compliance with safeguarding and statutory regulations

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience in site management, facilities, caretaking or a similar role
• Good practical maintenance skills
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures (e.g. COSHH, fire safety)
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work independently and manage priorities
• Good communication skills and a positive, flexible attitude
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
