Job Description
The Opportunity

Avantor is seeking an Operations Team Leader (Site Services Supervisor) to support the delivery of onsite inventory management and laboratory support services at a leading biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Limerick. Reporting to the Site Services Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day supervision of a team of Material Handlers, ensuring work is planned, assigned and completed safely, accurately and in accordance with GMP requirements. This role combines people leadership, operational coordination and customer interaction. You will work closely with the Site Services Manager, onsite associates and customer stakeholders to ensure service activities are delivered efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of compliance, quality and customer service. The role is ideally suited to an experienced team leader or supervisor who enjoys leading people, coordinating operational activities and driving accountability within a structured and process driven environment.

Key Responsibilities Team Supervision & Coordination
  • Provide day to day supervision and direction to a team of onsite Material Handlers.
  • Plan, assign and prioritise daily activities to ensure service requirements are achieved.
  • Monitor completion of tasks and ensure work is performed accurately and on schedule.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork and high performance across the team.
  • Support onboarding, training and development of team members.
  • Provide coaching and day to day guidance to associates while fostering a positive team culture.
  • Support performance management activities in partnership with the Site Services Manager.
Operational Service Delivery
  • Coordinate daily inventory management, stockroom and VMI activities across manufacturing and laboratory areas.
  • Ensure agreed service schedules and replenishment activities are completed in line with customer requirements.
  • Monitor workload distribution and adjust priorities to meet changing business needs.
  • Support inventory accuracy, stock rotation, expiry management and material availability activities.
  • Assist with KPI monitoring and reporting to ensure service expectations are achieved.
  • Identify operational issues and support timely resolution.
Quality, Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with GMP requirements, site procedures and EHS standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in support of operational activities.
  • Promote a culture of compliance, quality and right first time execution.
  • Support audit readiness activities and participate in inspections as required.
  • Ensure team training requirements are completed and maintained.
  • Reinforce adherence to SOPs, work instructions and established processes.
Customer & Stakeholder Support
  • Build effective working relationships with customer stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Act as a day to day operational contact for service related matters.
  • Communicate service issues, risks or delays in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support regular operational review meetings and service discussions.
  • Help identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Continuous Improvement
  • Support initiatives that improve efficiency, compliance and service quality.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce operational waste.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
What We're Looking For Essential Experience
  • Previous experience in a supervisory, team leader or senior operational role.
  • Experience leading, coordinating or directing the work of a frontline operational team.
  • Demonstrated experience assigning, prioritising and monitoring work activities.
  • Experience working within a structured, process driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of compliance, documentation and accountability.
  • Experience interacting with customers, stakeholders or cross functional teams.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in inventory management, materials management, stock control, laboratory support or manufacturing support operations.
  • Experience working within GMP, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, manufacturing or other regulated environments.
  • Experience monitoring KPIs, service metrics or operational performance measures.
  • Experience supporting audits, inspections or quality systems.
