Job Title: Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Total Experience Required: 8+ years in Information Technology/Computers/Software

Relevant Experience Required: 4+ years in Python, Kubernetes, Docker, GCP / Azure Cloud

Job Type: Contract

Contract Duration: Minimum 6 months, extendable up to 18 months based on project needs

Workplace Type: Hybrid (at least 3 times a week at office)

Languages Required: English, Dutch is a plus

Visa/Work Authorization Status:

  1. Candidates must hold a valid work permit or visa to work in the Netherlands
  2. If you currently possess a valid work visa for Europe or the UK, we can support the process of securing work authorization for the Netherlands

Work Location: Veldhoven, NL

  1. Must be currently based in the Netherlands, or
  2. Willing to relocate to the Netherlands from anywhere within Europe or the UK
  3. Relocation support is available for selected candidates relocating from within Europe or the UK
  4. Candidates outside Europe/UK unfortunately cannot be considered

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for a contract role in Veldhoven. This role requires deep technical expertise in infrastructure, automation, monitoring, and cloud environments, with a strong focus on system reliability, incident management, and cross-functional collaboration.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high availability and performance of critical systems and services
  • Define and monitor SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets
  • Lead incident response, post-mortems, and preventive remediation
  • Build and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform
  • Develop automation for deployments, scaling, and recovery
  • Implement observability solutions and maintain system health dashboards
  • Collaborate with developers and operations to support scalable architecture
  • Promote CI/CD and DevOps best practices


Essential Skills:

  • Expertise in Python, Bash, or Ruby scripting
  • Proven experience with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Strong understanding of GCP or Azure cloud platforms
  • Deep Linux/Unix systems knowledge
  • CI/CD tooling experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)


Optional Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
  • Monitoring with tools like Splunk or similar
  • Familiarity with ArgoCD or comparable deployment tools
  • Knowledge of access control, secrets management, and audit logging
  • Comfortable mentoring junior engineers and managing incident stress
