At GSK's flagship manufacturing site at Ware (Hertfordshire) we are now looking for a Site Production Scheduling Manager to join our team. The role reports directly into the Site Logistics Director and operates as a key member of the Value Stream team to ensure the execution of Production Scheduling for all work centres within the scheduling horizon at the site.

The Value Stream at Ware is responsible for the manufacture of our Ellipta device, a key strategic asset in the GSK portfolio which is on track to for significant growth in the next 5 year horizon. Oral Solid Dose a New Product Introduction facility and Micronising of APIs for Respiratory and Oral Solid Dose manufacture across the network and for third parties.

As Production Scheduling Manager you will ensure monitoring and definition of capacity statements for all work centres within the site (with a future projected view of 0-24 months). This extends to Production Scheduling activities to ensure they occur to a defined Standard Work/Scripted Day/Week (making certain activities happen at the right time and in the correct sequence) and that inventory is maintained in line within the Supply Chain design and Inventory policy. Responsibilities also extend to maintaining a close working relationship with Global Planning and owning the Schedule Lock process for the site to achieve our Conformance to Schedule (CTS) KPI.

You will also be accountable for driving improvement via GPS methodology, digitalisation and automation of scheduling processes with the aim of becoming a best in class scheduling team. You will also be responsible for the smooth transition from ECC to OMP as a planning process on site; Ware is the first scheduling site to go live.

Team Direct Reports: You will manage (and motivate) a team of circa 6 people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring schedules are provided to each manufacturing unit to optimise Production capacity, inventory and the Customer Order book (each unit operation is scheduled across the horizon in line with offered capacities).
  • Facilitating Schedule handover with Supply Planning to ensure achievable demand is handed over to the Scheduling team that supports efficiencies on site as well as customer requirements.
  • Measurement of Conformance to Plan (CtP) and Conformance to Schedule (CtS) for all Production work centres (including trending and driving improvements across the supply chain).
  • Execution of scripted activities to deliver optimum schedules (for Exceptions, Inventory Management & Data Maintenance).
  • Ensuring execution of a pre defined Performance Management process to ensure order fulfillment and incorporating non standard requirements into the production schedule (i.e. Launch, NPI, Engineering).
  • Identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities and drive automation to create best in class scheduling operation.
About You

This role would suit a highly motivated person who has strong experience of working in a cross functional, global supply organisation. You will be degree qualified (ideally) with detailed knowledge of logistics/supply chain/scheduling gained from working in a highly regulated industry. You will have demonstrably strong people skills, be resilient and calm under pressure, have a strong continuous improvement mindset, and a proven ability to drive performance while managing multiple stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications
  • Relevant experience (e.g., detailed understanding of planning and scheduling models, inventory management, end to end supply chain).
  • Relevant qualifications (preferably to Degree level).
  • Detailed knowledge of logistic operations gained from working in a highly regulated production environment.
  • Understanding and experience of managing complex supply chains consisting of both finishing pack and bulk supply.
  • Relevant experience driving improvement via a lean methodology and change management including strong communication.
