Job Description
Overview

Within the construction environment, managing budgets, delivering projects on time and maintaining high safety and quality standards across approximately 400 developments in the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with company health and safety standards, NHBC, building regulations and quality standards.
  • Coordinate labour and resources on site to deliver the build programme and schedule trades optimally.
  • Manage material levels to keep stock minimal yet sufficient for the programme.
  • Deliver plots to the highest quality, complying with NHBC Standards, Building Regulations and specifications.
  • Undertake quality control procedures, conduct inspections at appropriate times and rectify defects.
  • Monitor and control production cost, approve payments to contractors/trades.
  • Initiate and attend plot inspections with Local Building Inspectors or NHBC, taking corrective action to meet RI/BRI requirements.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and on site briefings.
  • Proactively liaise with internal departments, external suppliers and partners to achieve programme objectives.
  • Collaborate with sales through regular meetings to ensure smooth delivery of homes to customers.
  • Maintain high site presentation standards.
  • Conduct New Home Tours with Sales Advisor and customers, addressing questions and rectifying issues before Legal Completion.
  • Support the Contracts Manager in ensuring the construction team is fully resourced and directed, with clear responsibilities and support for communication, training and development.
  • Demonstrate a professional example in health and safety, organisation, conduct, quality, and professionalism.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience managing build programmes and key priorities.
  • Ability to deliver weekly targets through effective labour organisation and team leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills, emphasising detail and compliance.
  • Strong leadership and assertive skills to ensure delivery of high quality standards on site.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and solve problems efficiently.
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Builders or NVQ Level 5 in Construction Management, or an experienced tradesman with comprehensive knowledge of construction trades.
  • In depth knowledge of construction, housebuilding and regulatory requirements (health and safety, NHBC and Building Regulations).
  • Extensive experience dealing with customers, providing information, resolving issues and confirming procedures.
