This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a project of national importance, where high standards of delivery, safety and professionalism are critical.

If you are passionate about construction, thrive in structured and demanding environments, and are motivated by projects that genuinely make a difference, this role offers the chance to challenge yourself and grow your career with an industry leading contractor. At Wates, we encourage fresh thinking, collaborative working and pride in delivering the right outcomes - safely, responsibly and to the highest quality.

You'll be joining a talented, supportive and inclusive team, delivering work that requires attention to detail, strong leadership and a calm, considered approach to site management.

The role

Our Site Managers play a vital role in the successful delivery of our projects. Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team, you will lead day to day site operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, securely and in line with programme, quality and compliance expectations.

What you'll be doing
  • Implementing the Wates Operating Framework, with an uncompromising focus on Zero Harm
  • Managing all quality assurance activities in line with the Project Quality Plan

  • Reviewing and fully understanding design information relevant to your sections of work
  • Maintaining robust site, safety and security controls appropriate to a live, secure environment

Due to the nature of the project, you will be required to undergo a Basic / Standard / Enhanced DBS check at offer stage.

What we offer
  • Competitive salary and bonus
  • Car allowance or company car (subject to role/grade)
  • Travel expenses covered in line with HMRC advisory rates
  • A comprehensive benefits package including private medical cover, 8% employer pension contribution, wellbeing support, and 26 days' annual leave plus bank holidays
  • A strong commitment to learning, development and career progression
  • Industry leading family leave, including 26 weeks fully paid maternity leave and 12 weeks fully paid paternity leave
